    Daggerwing Group is seeking a Freelance Editor/Proofreader for our Toronto office! 


    As the Freelance Editor/Proofreader for Daggerwing Group’s office in Toronto, you will be focused on serving as a resource for increasing quality and editorial consistency of proposals, marketing material and work products. Hours will differ week-to-week and we assume the Editor/Proofreader will have other projects ongoing.  This individual would report to the Resourcing Manager for Daggerwing Group.


    Location: Toronto (Work-from-Home) but with flexibility for evening hours

    Time:   10-15 hours a week

    About the Job

    What will you be doing? 

    • Working with internal Marketing lead to develop editorial guidelines that can be applied in Canada, US, UK/EU and Asia. Includes generating a presentation to explain the guidelines and rules to staff.
    • Proofreading key documents, inclusive of editorial recommendations. This can include website articles and white papers, proposals, and deliverables (presentations, training materials, event materials).
    • Editing website articles for style, active voice and impact.
    • Crosscheck references and data points that appear in materials
    • Adapt multiple materials for other markets (example: a doc created in US spelling is edited to Canadian or UK spelling)


    • Proven experience as a proofreader for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, consistency and brand voice/adherence to editorial guidelines
    • Proven ability to edit documents to increase persuasion and impact
    • Experience and/or capabilities to edit for Canadian, US and UK English/spelling rules
    • Proficiency working in Word, PowerPoint and InDesign an asset – as well as ability to work with Office 365 Suite for document management
    • Strong interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, resourcefulness and ability to deal with multiple projects at once
